Which Injury to Choose?

It's all injured: from my broken big toe to my raging wine headache but let's just focus on the series of aches racking my legs, back and especially my knees from running something like 20 miles yesterday.  It's only when the kids leave that I'd attempt something that... dumb...?  No, something that ambitious.

It decided to join Mouse on a whim.  Everyone else was climbing or chilling.  The first half of the run was filled with amazing views of the distant Massif Central Mountain range and the nearby vineyards.  We ran straight through a picturesque rural french town and up through a forested mountain - chatting the whole way.  After a short break at Aven D'Orgnaic for a coke and a water we turned around and headed back.

On the way up we'd ascended around 200m.  Now we had to go down.  Eighty percent of the return journey was downhill and more painful than any run I've ever taken.

For the final three kilometers into town I followed a hallucination of a 1.5L bottle of Orangina.  I found it at the shop along with a box of cookies, bag of chips, bag of gummies and packet of crackers - all of which I ate along with my sandwich before dinner.

Before bed I was hobbling like and old man and this morning I could hardly stand up.  Then we went to play paintball.  It's amazing how quickly being shot at can cure your sore muscles.
